Family can be "Mom, Dad, Child", "Mom or Dad with 2 children" or "siblings" shopping for parents. Let them interact as families do, and discuss what they want to buy.
The store clerks: one can be watching the "stand" and give items to the "family" as each item is requested; the other clerk can be a cashier, "ring" up the items and give a price.
A: Can you please get a shopping car?
B: I want some candy.
C: We should buy some fruit, like bananas and apples.
D: Here you are, bananas and apples.
E: That will be $100 please. Would you like a paper bag?
You can also put a price sticker on the item, so that they can talk about how much each item is, and if it is expensive, cheap, good/bad deal, etc.
